IP65 and IP54 – Protecting your equipment from dust, debris and liquids
Computers, monitors and other electrical equipment are now so common in industry and manufacturing in the office or at home. Unfortunately, the demand for electrical appliances such as computers in industrial environments are completely different places in the PC office. Industrial environments tend to be dirty and filthy, and contain large quantities of pollutants that are harmful to sensitive electronic equipment, such as water and dust. Fortunately, a European IP (Ingress Protection) system for classifying degrees of protection for electrical equipment has been developed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), these guidelines are designed to numerically rate a product at Electric for he offered his protection. By assigning different number codes, the degree of product protection can be identified quickly and easily. IP65 In the code, for example, IP identifies this standard, the level of security 6describes solid objects, and 5 describes the level of protection from liquids. IP65 and IP54 are the most commonly used in the manufacture of electrical products for industry. IP65 rated product is totally protected against dust and particles in the air while being protected against water jets that enable the machine to be watered, while a certain degree of protection IP54 provides protection against dust (but not total) and protected against splashing water, no flushing. IP ratings are superior to IP65 (IP68 dust provide complete protection and diving), but they are rare and excessive for most industrial applications. Many industrial computers are built to IP65 standards, but unfortunately this can have serious drawbacks when it comes to repairs and improvements to the units. Which assessed IP65 industrial equipment must be sealed to prevent dust and water to invade the sensitive components. Unfortunately, this means that if the team needs to be repaired or updated after an engineer should be called. Industrial computers and inherently sealed IP65 or IP54 are also very expensive. They are often solid-state, if it means that they are robust and reliable also means that they are close-to-impossible to upgrade. Fortunately, a solution to expensive machines specific IP rating is based on a standard computer or other electrical device in an enclosure IP65 or IP54 industrial. These cabinets have a huge advantage over industrial IP specifically designed equipment worth that can accommodate conventional equipment. This provides a double cost savings as standard equipment, like an off-the-shelf PC will cost a fraction of the cost of solid-state IP rated industrial equipment. Even when it comes to upgrade, repair or replacement of equipment may be used and remove the product without the need for an expensive car. In addition, an industrial product made to IP65 or IP54 will last more than a nominal specific IP address with some pieces of equipment enclosures able to survive and compete with dust protection and water for decades, while industrial machinery luck conventional till – four or five years.
